DJ Yoda, real name Duncan Beiny was born in 1977 in London, UK. As a student in the Highgate School, he want to study literature where he really got into music. During the weekends he managed to lock up a sport at a popular hip hop soul night club in Warwick called Mojo. He started performing and never looked back again.

His career as a turntablist started in 1998 but it’s safe to say that his peak as a musician was for around 10 years until 2010 when he even received an award for contemporary music in the 9th Annual Independent Music Awards.

Even though he is still performing, he hasn’t released an album for almost 5 years now.

Today we are reviewing DJ Yoda’s Goes To The Movie’s DVD. It’s a little different from what we regularly but it was offered by one of our readers and we decided to go for it. Goes to The Movies was released in two parts in 2006 and 2007. DJ Yoda Goes to The Movies was not well received by critics and, let’s be honest, they were right. When you look back at how his career developed, it does make sense from the business point of view to release something to increase your revenue. But leaving speculation aside, he did deliver what his fans loved him for in those DVD’s – fun, energetic music. We give it 5 out of 10 ★★★★★
